Town Clerk, Donna J. McCoy, announces that nomination papers for the 2026 Town Election are available at the Town Clerk’s Office. Open seats for this election include: TWO seats for Select Board, ONE seat for School Committee, THREE seats for Planning Board. There is also ONE seat for the MODERATOR, ONE seat for the TOWN CLERK and ONE seat for the Housing Authority for a 5-year term.
Candidates for these positions must obtain a minimum of fifty (50) valid signatures of registered voters’ town wide.
There are openings for Town Meeting Members in each of the twelve precincts. Town meeting members must file nomination papers with a minimum of ten (10) valid signatures of registered voters from their respective precinct ONLY.
The deadline for filing nomination papers is Tuesday, February 23, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. NO EXCEPTIONS! The annual town election is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026.
Nomination papers are available during office hours, Monday 8:00 am to 6:30 pm., Tuesday through Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Candidates unable to pick up nomination papers in person may give Signed written authorization for someone to pick up their papers. This authorization must state the office being sought and the length of term.
