FROM THE BILLERICA WATER SUPERINTEDENT
With the rehabilitation of the Town’s water storage tanks, including the Tower Farm Tank, nearing completion, the Billerica Water Division will begin filling the 7.5-million-gallon Tower Farm Tank this week. This serves as a reminder to the entire Billerica community that a complete WATER BAN remains in effect town-wide due to the tank rehabilitation project and the current status of the Tower Farm Tank. All irrigation and other nonessential outdoor water use must immediately cease to allow for the safe and sustainable return of the Tower Farm Tank to service. Given the current system demand, the water system cannot sustain the additional demand associated with filling the tank while nonessential water use continues. We ask all residents and businesses to comply with the water ban until the tank restoration project has been completed. Under the Town of Billerica Water Rules & Regulations, failure to comply with the complete water ban designation may result in fines. We appreciate the community’s full cooperation during this critical period.
