The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing temporary roadway detours of Route 3A (Boston Rd) Northbound between Webb Brook Road and Tower Farm Road. These lane closures are scheduled to begin Monday, February 9 from 9:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m. and, and will continue until further notice to allow crews to safely excavate and install large drainage components along the centerline of the Northbound travel lane of Route 3A. Pedestrian travel will not be impacted. Work restrictions will be in place for high peak travel times. Detours will be in place as follows:
- Route 3A Northbound vehicular traffic will be directed right onto Webb Brook Road, then left onto Allen Road and left again onto Tower Farm Road, rejoining Route 3A at the terminus of Tower Farm Road.
- Southbound Route 3A Traffic will not be impacted. The work is being conducted as part of a $8.1 million project for Intersection Improvements and Related Work along a Section of Route 3A (Boston Rd) at Lexington St and Glad Valley Road. Police details, signage and other traffic control devices will be deployed daily to assist motorists through the detour. Those traveling through the area should reduce speed and use caution. All scheduled work is weather permitting and subject to change without notice.
